Chapter 9 of 9
Sugar Rush glossary
The words this site, the games' rules screens and Sugar Rush players use, in plain English. Each entry links to the chapter that covers it in depth.
- 7×7 grid
- The board every Sugar Rush game is played on: seven columns and seven rows, 49 cells in all. More
- Ante Bet
- A special bet in Sugar Rush Super Scatter: five times the base bet per spin, free spins trigger naturally ten times as often, and buys are switched off. RTP 96.56%. More
- Autoplay
- Spins the game for you a chosen number of times. It changes nothing about the results, only how fast you spend.
- Base bet
- Your normal stake per spin. Buy prices, Super Scatter prizes and special-bet costs are all counted in base bets.
- Base game
- Normal spins outside free spins. In Sugar Rush, marked cells and multipliers are cleared at the end of each base spin's tumbles.
- Bonus buy
- Paying up front to start free spins straight away: 100x the bet in all four games, or 500x for Super Free Spins in 1000 and Super Scatter. More
- Cluster
- A group of five or more identical candies connected horizontally or vertically. Diagonal contact doesn't count. More
- Cluster pays
- A way of paying wins for groups of touching symbols instead of lines across reels. Every Sugar Rush game uses it.
- Demo
- The free version of a game with play money. The Sugar Rush demos on this site are Pragmatic Play's own. More
- Doubling
- What a multiplier spot does with each new winning explosion on it: x2, x4, x8 and so on up to the cap.
- Explosion
- What happens to winning candies after they pay: they disappear, which marks their cells and makes room for a tumble.
- Free spins
- The bonus round: 10 to 30 spins for 3 to 7 scatters, during which marked cells and multipliers stay on the board. More
- Gacor
- Slang for a slot said to be 'paying well' at the moment. It has no basis in how the games work. More
- High volatility
- The rating all four games carry: wins come less often, but big wins are more likely in a short time. More
- Hit rate
- The share of spins that pay anything. Our base-game hit rates were 29.8% to 37.6% across the four games.
- Marked cell
- A cell where a winning candy has exploded. A second explosion there turns it into a x2 multiplier spot. More
- Max win
- The most a spin or free spins round can pay: 5,000x (original, Xmas), 25,000x (1000) or 50,000x (Super Scatter). A round that reaches it ends at once. More
- Multiplier spot
- A cell carrying a multiplier from x2 up to x128 (original, Xmas) or x1,024 (1000, Super Scatter). It multiplies any cluster that wins on top of it. More
- Multipliers add up
- When one winning cluster covers several multiplier spots, their values are added and the sum multiplies the cluster's pay once.
- Paytable
- The list of what each candy pays for each cluster size, 5 to 15+. It is the same in all four games. More
- Pola
- A supposed winning pattern of bets and spins, popular in some communities. Spins are independent, so no pattern can work. More
- Pragmatic Play
- The studio that makes the Sugar Rush series, along with Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza and many other slots.
- Random number generator (RNG)
- The software on the game server that decides each spin. It is tested by independent labs and doesn't remember previous spins.
- Retrigger
- Landing 3 or more scatters during free spins, which adds 10 to 30 more spins and keeps the multipliers on the board. More
- RTP
- Return to player: the share of all money bet that a game pays back over the very long run. 96.44% to 96.58% across Sugar Rush games and modes. More
- RTP version
- Studios often supply several RTP builds of the same game; each casino picks one. The rules screen in the game shows yours.
- Rules screen
- The game's own information pages, opened with the i button. Every number on this site comes from them.
- Scatter
- The gumball-machine rocket. Three or more anywhere on the grid trigger free spins; they don't need to touch. More
- Special reels
- A different mix of symbols that the game uses during free spins, as its rules screen notes.
- Super Free Spins
- A premium bonus bought for 500x in Sugar Rush 1000 and Super Scatter, in which all 49 cells start at x2. More
- Super Scatter
- The yellow lollipop sun in Sugar Rush Super Scatter. In a trigger of 3+ scatters, 1 to 4 of them pay 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x the base bet. More
- Super Spin 1
- A Super Scatter special bet at 10 times the base bet: random cells start each spin with multipliers from x2 to x128. More
- Super Spin 2
- A Super Scatter special bet at 250 times the base bet: all 49 cells start each spin at x32. More
- Test Kitchen
- Our demo test: 2,000 base spins and 74 bonus rounds logged from the official demos, with every number published. More
- Total bet
- Your whole stake for a spin. Paytable values are multiples of it.
- Trigger
- The spin that starts free spins, with 3 to 7 scatters.
- Tumble
- After a win, the winning candies explode, the rest fall down and new ones drop in, and the board is checked again. More
- Turbo spin
- A faster animation setting. It doesn't change results, only the number of spins per minute.
- x bet
- How this site writes amounts: 100x means one hundred times the bet, so $100 at a $1 bet.
