Pragmatic Play · 15 January 2026 · 7×7 cluster pays
Sugar Rush Super Scatter slot review
A new symbol, the Super Scatter sun, pays 100x to 50,000x when it lands in a free spins trigger.
Spots double to x1,024, as in Sugar Rush 1000. Max win 50,000x.
The most options in the series: Ante, Super Spin 1, Super Spin 2 and two bonus buys.
The quick bite
Sugar Rush Super Scatter is the newest and busiest game in the series. It arrived on 15 January 2026 and keeps the familiar 7×7 candy grid, but stacks three new layers on it: a Super Scatter symbol with instant prizes, three special bets and the x1,024 spot cap from Sugar Rush 1000.
The rules screen runs to eight pages, against seven for the older games, and the game carries six different RTP figures, one for each way of playing. That is a lot of reading for a candy slot, so we did it for you, then played 500 base spins, bought 15 regular and 5 Super bonuses, and tried the most expensive special bet once to see what it looks like.
The short answer: the base game is the same Sugar Rush, the bonus can be much bigger, and the special bets change the cost of a spin by up to 250 times. Read the Super Spin section before you touch that button.
What's new in this flavour
- Super Scatter symbol: 1, 2, 3 or 4 of them in a free spins trigger pay 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x the base bet on the spot.
- Spots double to x1,024 (original: x128) and the max win is 50,000x (original: 5,000x).
- Ante Bet at 5 times the base bet: free spins trigger naturally 10 times as often; buys are switched off.
- Super Spin 1 (10× the base bet): random cells start each spin with x2 to x128. Super Spin 2 (250×): all 49 cells start each spin at x32.
- Two buys: Free Spins at 100x and Super Free Spins at 500x with x2 on every cell.
- Same seven candies, paytable, free spin counts and tumble rules as the original.

How a spin works
The grid and the candies are the original's. 7×7, five or more touching candies of one kind win, winners explode, the rest tumble down and new ones fall in.
Cells remember wins. An explosion marks the cell, a second one makes it x2, and each further explosion doubles it, up to x1,024. Multipliers under one cluster are added together. In the base game the board clears when the tumbles stop.
Two kinds of scatter. The ordinary scatter (a pink gumball rocket) and the Super Scatter (a yellow lollipop sun) both count towards a free spins trigger. Three or more scatters of any kind start the bonus; if the trigger includes Super Scatters, they also pay their instant prize.

The intro screen shows both kinds of scatter on the grid. Free spins keep every multiplier for the whole round, and three or more scatters retrigger it.
The Super Scatter, explained
The rule is precise, and worth reading slowly: combinations of 3 or more Scatter and Super Scatter symbols trigger or retrigger free spins, and if at least one Super Scatter is among them, they pay as follows.
| On the trigger spin | Instant prize |
|---|---|
| 1 Super Scatter | 100x your base bet |
| 2 Super Scatters | 500x your base bet |
| 3 Super Scatters | 5,000x your base bet |
| 4 Super Scatters | 50,000x your base bet |
- A Super Scatter alone pays nothing. It needs at least two other scatters of either kind on the same grid. In our replayed round one landed during the first free spin with no partners and paid nothing.
- The prize is on the base bet, not on any special-bet stake: 100x at a $1 base bet is $100 whether or not Ante is on.
- It is paid on top of the free spins, which then play out normally. In our data the prize is reported separately from the free spins win; we added the two together for our totals.
How often did it happen? In our test, 5 of 15 regular bought bonuses and 1 of 5 Super buys had at least one Super Scatter on the trigger spin, and so did one of the three bonuses our base spins triggered by themselves. One regular buy had two Super Scatters: a 500x prize plus 554.8x from the free spins, 1,054.8x in all, our best regular buy across all four games. Chapter 4 of Learn covers the maths in more detail.

Ante and the two Super Spins
The Special Bets panel offers three ways to change what a base spin costs and does. The game expresses them as a bet multiplier in coins, where normal play is 20; here they are in terms of your base bet, which is what you actually pay.
| Mode | Cost per spin | What it does | RTP | At a $2 base bet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal play | 1× base bet | — | 96.58% | $2 |
| Ante Bet | 5× base bet | Free spins trigger naturally 10 times as often; Buy Feature is switched off | 96.56% | $10 |
| Super Spin 1 | 10× base bet | Random cells start each base spin with random multipliers from x2 to x128 | 96.50% | $20 |
| Super Spin 2 | 250× base bet | All 49 cells start each base spin at x32 | 96.52% | $500 |
Note how the Ante here is different from Ante bets in many other games, which add 25% to the stake. This one multiplies it by five. The RTPs are all within 0.08 points of each other: none of these modes is a better deal, they only reshape how wins arrive.

We tried Super Spin 2 once
One spin at a $2 base bet costs $500. Every cell of the grid starts at x32 before the candies land. Our spin produced one cluster: five red bears on five x32 cells, a combined x160 on a 0.3x cluster, which the game paid as $96. That's less than a fifth of the stake back. A single spin proves nothing about the mode, but it shows the scale: you need large clusters over x32 cells, not just one small win, to get your stake back.

The configuration that the demo loads also caps each mode differently. With Super Spin 2 the most a spin can win is 200 times its stake, which is the same 50,000x your base bet. The config lists that cap as roughly a one-in-50,000 event for Super Spin 2, against one in 10 million for normal play, which tells you how differently the two modes are built. These are the developer's own figures, not something we could test.

Free spins and bonus buys
| Scatters on the grid | To trigger | To retrigger, in the round |
|---|---|---|
| 3 scatters | 10 free spins | +10 more |
| 4 scatters | 12 free spins | +12 more |
| 5 scatters | 15 free spins | +15 more |
| 6 scatters | 20 free spins | +20 more |
| 7+ scatters | 30 free spins | +30 more |
The bonus works as in the rest of the series: spots and multipliers stay on the board for the whole round, special reels are in play, and 3 or more scatters retrigger it. Super Scatters in a retrigger pay their prize too.
Buy Free Spins · 100x
Standard free spins straight away. RTP 96.50%. Not available while Ante is on.
Buy Super Free Spins · 500x
Every cell starts the round at x2. RTP 96.55%, slightly higher than the regular buy here, unlike in Sugar Rush 1000.

One of our rounds, replayed
A regular buy at $2: three ordinary scatters, 10 free spins, no retrigger. A Super Scatter dropped in on the first free spin, alone, and paid nothing. The best cell reached x16.
| Free spin | Spin win | Total | Best spot |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 of 10 | 0.25x | 0.25x | — |
| 2 of 10 | 0x | 0.25x | — |
| 3 of 10 | 0.3x | 0.55x | x2 |
| 4 of 10 | 0x | 0.55x | x2 |
| 5 of 10 | 0.95x | 1.5x | x2 |
| 6 of 10 | 0x | 1.5x | x2 |
| 7 of 10 | 9.5x | 11x | x16 |
| 8 of 10 | 2x | 13x | x16 |
| 9 of 10 | 0x | 13x | x16 |
| 10 of 10 | 0x | 13x | x16 |
It returned 13x on a 100x price. Our Super Scatter buys were spread unusually wide: the worst returned 0.95x, the best 1,054.8x, the median 56.9x. Five of fifteen paid back their price, the best rate of the four games, largely thanks to Super Scatter prizes.
Straight from the rules screen
| Mode | RTP |
|---|---|
| Base game | 96.58% |
| Ante Bet | 96.56% |
| Super Spin 1 | 96.50% |
| Super Spin 2 | 96.52% |
| Buy Free Spins | 96.50% |
| Buy Super Free Spins | 96.55% |
Max win is 50,000x; a free spins round that reaches it ends immediately. Volatility is marked high. The rules screen lists bets from $0.20 to $60,000: the top figure is a Super Spin 2 spin at the highest base bet, not a normal spin, which tops out at $240. Page 5 of the rules also says "symbols pay anywhere", a line that contradicts page 1 and the way the game actually plays; wins need connected clusters, as in every Sugar Rush.

Small samples swing hard: these numbers describe our sessions, not the game's maths. Full data and method: Test Kitchen.
Our base spins triggered free spins three times in 500 spins, more than in any other game we tested, and one of those triggers carried a 100x Super Scatter prize. With those bonuses counted, the 500 spins returned 131% of what we bet; without them, 50.6%. The five Super buys averaged 1,295.7x against their 500x price, and two reached the x1,024 cap on a cell. Small samples: a different session could look nothing like this. Full data in the Test Kitchen.
Sweet for, sour for
Sweet for
- Players who want the biggest possible top end: 50,000x and the Super Scatter ladder.
- Anyone who likes options and reads the rules before using them.
- Bonus hunters: the Super Scatter prizes make bought rounds less all-or-nothing.
Sour for
- Beginners: six RTPs and three special bets are a lot to take in.
- Small bankrolls: Super Spin 2 costs 250 base bets a spin.
- Players who want the simple original: everything new here is optional, but it's on screen all the time.

Questions about Sugar Rush Super Scatter
What does the Super Scatter pay?
When at least one Super Scatter is part of a combination of 3 or more scatters (of either kind) that triggers or retriggers free spins: 1 Super Scatter pays 100x the base bet, 2 pay 500x, 3 pay 5,000x and 4 pay 50,000x. On its own, without enough other scatters, it pays nothing.
What is the RTP of Sugar Rush Super Scatter?
The rules screen lists six figures: 96.58% for normal play, 96.56% with Ante, 96.50% with Super Spin 1, 96.52% with Super Spin 2, 96.50% when buying Free Spins and 96.55% when buying Super Free Spins.
What is the max win?
50,000 times the base bet. A free spins round that reaches it ends immediately. With a special bet on, the cap is still 50,000x the base bet, which is a smaller multiple of the larger stake.
How much does the Ante bet cost?
Five times the base bet: $10 per spin at a $2 base bet. It makes free spins trigger naturally ten times as often and switches the Buy Feature off. Its RTP is 96.56%.
What are Super Spin 1 and Super Spin 2?
Special bets for the base game. Super Spin 1 costs 10 times the base bet and starts random cells of each spin with x2 to x128. Super Spin 2 costs 250 times the base bet and starts all 49 cells of each spin at x32. They are expensive: one Super Spin 2 spin at a $2 base bet is $500.
What are Super Free Spins?
A bonus you buy for 500 times the base bet, in which all 49 cells start the round at x2. Its RTP is 96.55%. In our five Super buys the results ranged from 126.9x to 2,968.1x.
What are the bet limits?
$0.20 to $240 per normal spin in the demo. The rules screen shows a maximum of $60,000, which is the cost of a Super Spin 2 spin at the highest base bet.
Is Sugar Rush Super Scatter the same as Sugar Rush 1000?
They share the x1,024 spot cap and the Super Free Spins buy. Super Scatter adds the Super Scatter prizes, the three special bets and a 50,000x max win (1000: 25,000x). See our comparison.
