The real difference: the Super Scatter
Strip away the special bets and the two games play almost identically. The thing that changes everyday results is the Super Scatter sun. When one or more land as part of a 3+ scatter trigger, they pay an instant prize on top of the free spins: 100x for one, 500x for two.
In our test that mattered a lot. A third of Super Scatter's regular buys (5 of 15) came with a Super Scatter prize, and one with two of them (500x). As a result its median regular buy was 56.9x against the 1000's 24.3x, and 5 of 15 buys paid back their price against 2 of 15. Fifteen rounds is a small sample, so read that as a difference in shape rather than proof of better value: the RTPs are nearly identical.
Super Free Spins in both
The 500x buy works the same way in both games: every cell starts at x2. Two differences. Its RTP is 96.44% in the 1000 and 96.55% in Super Scatter, so in Super Scatter the Super buy is slightly better on paper than the regular one, while in the 1000 it is slightly worse. And Super Scatter's Super rounds can also pay Super Scatter prizes.

Special bets: Super Scatter only
Super Scatter's three special bets change the cost of every base spin: Ante (5×, free spins trigger naturally ten times as often, buys switched off), Super Spin 1 (10×, random cells start with x2 to x128) and Super Spin 2 (250×, all cells start at x32). Their RTPs (96.56%, 96.50%, 96.52%) say they are not better deals, just different ways to spend. If you never plan to use them, they are simply extra buttons, and the 1000 gives you the same x1,024 ladder without them. All the details are in chapter 5 of Learn.
